Scotland at The Great Escape 2025
Scotland At The Great Escape is set to return to Brighton on 15 and 16 May, with a snapshot of some of the nation’s best-emerging talent presented over two afternoons, at the UK’s largest showcase festival.
Day one of the diverse line-up takes place at Horatio’s, with electro pop artist Fourth Daughtersharing a bill with mighty punk acts SOAPBOX and Water Machine. They will be joined by Bottle Rockets, winners of BBC Introducing Scottish act of the year 2024. The following afternoon at Brighthelm features alt-pop from Theo Bleak, the nouveaux grunge of Indoor Foxes and jazz acts Azamiah and Mercury-nominated, corto.alto.
In addition to the matinee showcases, they will all perform in The Great Escape’s evening programme, which runs from 14-17 May and also includes Scottish acts Brògeal, James Emmanuel, Rubie, Sim0ne and YES AND MAYBE.
The Caledonian presence will be further boosted by the popular reception hosted by Wide Days and Creative Scotland, from 1730-1930 at The Old Ship Hotel, where vegan haggis and deep-fried Mars bars will be served. This will offer an opportunity for Scottish industry professionals and artists to connect with their international peers.
Alan Morrison, Head of Music at Creative Scotland said: “In recent years, The Great Escape has become a major gateway for Scotland’s rock, pop and indie musicians to reach international markets, promoters and new audiences. The 2025 line-up may be the strongest yet, featuring a diverse line-up of emerging artists who are already knocking at the door of the music industry. It’s great to see two of our hottest jazz acts – Azamiah and corto.alto – rounding off the second day of the Scottish showcases and proving that the scene in Scotland isn’t restricted by genres and categories – we just make fantastic music that’s a match for anything the rest of the world has to offer.”
Olaf Furniss, director at Wide Events, said: “The Scottish reception has established itself as a key destination at The Great Escape for delegates from across the world to connect with our artists and professionals. We look forward to welcoming our international friends at The Old Ship and the daytime showcases and are happy to make introductions.”
