The Pleasance

The Pleasance Courtyard is accessible on the ground and first floor areas for all visitors with reduced mobility and accessibility needs via a lift or handrail assistance. This is where the main conference will take place.    

On arrival at the venue there is a reception desk to the left with a receptionist more than happy to offer any assistance you may need to help navigate the venue.  

Access into the venue is flat, with no steps although the courtyard before the entrance is cobbled. There is an accessible toilet immediately on the right as you enter the foyer through the main doors.

Sneaky Pete’s

Address: 73 Cowgate, EH1 1JW

Sneaky Pete’s is a club and live music venue with direct access from Edinburgh’s Cowgate. There is one step at the front entrance; a ramp can be provided on request. Inside, the venue is on one level through to the stage.

The venue is small and can become crowded. There is no designated viewing platform or area. Seating (a chair or stool) can be arranged in advance, if you would like this, please arrive at least 15 minutes before the performance begins to allow easier access through the space.

Sneaky Pete’s does not have an accessible toilet. The nearest accessible facilities are at The Three Sisters Bar, approximately 45 metres down the street, whose staff are happy to assist visitors with access needs. Accessible toilets are also available at The Bongo Club and La Belle Angele.

La Belle Angele

Address: 11 Hasties Close, EH1 1HJ

La Belle Angele is a club and live music venue located on Hastie’s Close. Access to the venue is via hand-railed stairs, either down from Guthrie Street or up from the Cowgate. Step-free access to the building is not available. The main entrance door will be held open during the showcase.

Inside the venue, there is a step-free route to the box office, main gig space, and upper bar. This route is reserved for visitors with access requirements, please speak to the box office staff on arrival for assistance.

Access to the dance floor and larger bar area is via a small set of stairs. Seating (a chair or stool) can be arranged in advance; if you would like this, please arrive at least 15 minutes before the performance begins.

An accessible toilet is available in the upper bar area, on the foyer side.

The Bongo Club

Address: 66 Cowgate, EH1 1JX

The Bongo Club is a club and live venue situated just off The Cowgate. The main entrance is around 50 metres up a small cobbled lane, which may be difficult for wheelchair users. A strip along the edge of the lane is surfaced with tarmac, which provides easier access.

Once inside, the bar and performance space has ramped access. Access to the smoking garden is up to two steps however smoking is allowed in front of the main entrance.

The general toilets are upstairs however there is an accessible toilet by the entrance on ground level.

Along the length of the bar area and around the performance space there is padded booth seating.
