BLAIR DAVIE
Saturday 20 Sep
22:20 - 22:55 i Imperial Theatre
Blair Davie was just 12 when their songwriting ambitions materialised into their first songs and recordings. From then on, it was all about the music for them. As a member and front man in various bands, Blair gained studio and stage experience, wrote songs and explored different genres - from rock to pop and folk to indie and soul. Their authentic style and unmistakable vocal range mean Blair is celebrated by fans and feature pages alike, and not just in the UK. Singles such as ‘Him, Hymn’ (2022) and ‘Found My Person’ (2023) have scored hundreds of thousands of streams on relevant platforms, but also set a thematic framework. It’s about self-discovery and your own sexuality, about loving and being loved, but also about strength and resilience after a painful loss. Inspired by greats such as Bon Iver or Dermot Kennedy, Blair Davie translates these themes into songs of great urgency that never veer into kitsch. With the new singles ‘Butterflies’ and ‘Wouldn't Be Right’ (2025), Blair also shows how this balancing act can still be one of the simplest undertakings.
BOW ANDERSON
Saturday 20 Sep
19:30 - 20:15 i Docks
Bow Anderson always wanted to fly high. During her childhood, she focused on professional trampoline jumping. Then, after a serious injury, she turned to singing and songwriting. Music became not only a means of artistic self-expression, but also a form of therapy for her. Her pop compositions reflect a wide range of moods, from electronic-based to balladic, from powerful and energetic to melancholic, yet they always demonstrate one thing: Anderson’s outstanding flair for cinematic melodies and emotional peaks. From her anthemic first single, ‘Sweater’ (2020), to the gospel pop of her debut EP, ‘New Wave’ (2021), to the heartbreak ode ‘12 Minute Walk’ (2024), the exceptional Scottish singer has consistently evolved and found her style. Millions of streams, a deal with Universal, and the feedback from the arts pages speak for themselves: Bow Anderson has joined the ranks of singers who are establishing themselves in the long term on the international stage. Anyone who still needs proof will find it in her latest singles, ‘Two Houses’ and ‘Slap In The Face’ (2025). Or simply come to Hamburg in September and hear her for yourself.
CARA ROSE
Wednesday 17 Sep
21:30 - 22:30 i Mojo Club
Cara Rose immortalised herself in the souls of hundreds of thousands of soul fans around the world with her debut single, ‘Learn To Speak’, over five years ago. The live recording from a church in Edinburgh suddenly brought the singer and composer’s musical talent to the attention of an audience that sees her potential as being on a par with singers such as Amy Winehouse and Alicia Keys – two names that are hardly used lightly as comparisons. However, anyone who hears singles with the intensity of ‘Lovin’’ (2023) or ‘Learn To Speak’ – which has racked up millions of clicks – in a moment of calm can quickly understand the fascination for this singer. Rose’s new single, ‘Spring’, also builds on her sound-shaping qualities, which she has always used so masterfully in the past – and still does today, especially live on stage.
CONSCIOUS PILOT
Friday 19 Sep
18:30 - 19:00 i Häkken
Exactly how the distinctive sound of a band is created is often enough a question of chance. Or fate. Or talent. Or all of the above? Over the past few years, Conscious Pilot have put their heart and soul into working hard to sound like no other band from Glasgow’s punk scene. And with success. The duo – which has since grown into a quartet – established a signature sound that lies somewhere between art punk and post-rock with their debut EP, ‘Epoxy Plains’ (2024), which combines rhythmic variance with infectious hooks and unconventional goosebump-inducing melodies. Similar to the experimental combos of the Windmill scene from Brixton, Conscious Pilot are interested in combining erratic instrumentation, spoken word passages, and socio-critical themes, but they are also interested in disruption and artistic rebellion against the logic of a thoroughly commercialised music world. Their steadily growing audience in mainland Europe proves that they are also hitting the nerve of the times beyond their British homeland. And their first gig in Hamburg will undoubtedly win them some new fans.
GALLUS
Thursday 18 Sep
22:00 - 22:45 i Kaiserkeller
Gallus find their sources of inspiration for a sound that combines political protest with positive power in the hopelessness of an entire generation and in the pulsating punk underground of the UK. Their debut album, ‘We Don’t Like The People We Become’ (2023), is not only about ever-increasing generational conflicts, but also about the depiction of various trigger points of youth, the bittersweet and polarising growing up in a time that gives little reason for hope. Originating as a boozy idea in a pub in Glasgow, the quartet can play all the aces of this entirely British origin story to the full and combine the sheer verve of Sports Team with the sharp-witted humour of Yard Act and the existential disillusionment of Fontaines D.C. There is thus no doubt that they will soon be able to gain a foothold in Germany with this mixture. And now, you can see them before the hype begins.
PISTOL DAISYS
Wednesday 17 Sep
19:30 - 20:10 i Nochtwache
Hardly any other band is turning heads in Scotland’s vibrant music scene like Pistol Daisys. The Glasgow trio generate more energy with guitar, bass, and drums than many a rock orchestra, and they don’t even need to shout about it. No wonder: When you can whip up songs like the joyfully melodic ‘Whisky & Wine’ (2023) and the pulsating empowerment anthem ‘Crying In Marseille’ (2025) seemingly at the drop of a hat, you don’t need any PR frills. Instead, news of the hottest alt-pop trio in the UK spreads through word of mouth and furious live performances – from small club gigs to big festival stages. Their inspirations are held in high esteem. Blondie and Kate Bush shine through in the guitars and vocals, but Courtney Love and the legends of the early 2000s garage rock revival are also audible in the songwriting. And yet their new single, ‘Honey!’ (2025), proves that Pistol Daisys have their own sound, refine it, and can bring it to the stage live – soon also here in Hamburg.
