We're in Austria this week with two excellent acts from Scotland, selected by our friends at Waves Vienna - Alice Faye and Lucia & The Best Boys.
As part of the conference Olaf will be hosting a Scottish market overview, combined with with a whisky and exotic soft-drink tasting (1445:1545,Thursday, sign up below).

This presentation introduces key UK showcase platforms and their role in connecting artists with international industry networks. It offers an overview of different regional scenes, professional opportunities and routes into the UK music landscape.

Lucia Fairfull is entering a new chapter with real momentum behind her. As the frontwoman of Lucia & The Best Boys, she has built a reputation for emotionally charged, high-impact live performances, earning praise from NME and BBC Radio 1 for her commanding presence and powerhouse voice.
The band have delivered standout performances on major stages, including Edinburgh’s Hogmanay alongside Wet Leg, and have supported acts such as Garbage and The Last Dinner Party. Known for their ability to connect just as powerfully in intimate rooms as on festival main stages, their live show blends intensity, precision and emotional release.
Lucia’s sound explores themes central to her work: divine femininity and power, the complexity of love and desire, and a deep connection to the natural world and her beloved Scotland.
With a proven festival track record, the band are firmly positioned for major UK and European festival stages and continued international growth.
Alice Faye

Glasgow songwriter Alice Faye is fast becoming one of Scotland's most distinctive new voices, crafting songs that balance cinematic drama with intimate, confessional storytelling. Blending 70s pop, 60s folk and classic country with a theatrical, chanson-inspired flair, her music feels both timeless and vividly modern. Rich piano arrangements, sharp lyrical wit and a striking, expressive vocal style sit at the heart of her work, creating songs that move seamlessly from tender vulnerability to bold, playful spectacle.
Her piano-led EP Deadbeat earned widespread praise and national airplay, while festival appearances at Belladrum, Celtic Connections, Doune the Rabbit Hole and Eden Festival have cemented her reputation as a captivating live performer. Alice has shared stages with artists including Rufus Wainwright, Nick Lowe and BMX Bandits, and toured the UK and Europe, selling out headline shows in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Fresh from winning BBC Introducing Scottish Act of the Year 2026 and Sound of Young Scotland 2025, Alice continues to build momentum as she prepares her debut album Vaudevillain.
