Showcase Submissions Now Open
We are inviting acts to apply to showcase at this year’s event, which takes place in Edinburgh on April 9-10.
Three slots will be available and acts will be selected in consultation with a panel of promoters, journalists and broadcasters. The deadline for submissions is Friday 14th February at 5pm and details of the application criteria can be found here.
“Wide Days has established a reputation for its carefully curated live programme and has introduced some great talents to both the public and the music industry,” says co-organiser Olaf Furniss. “We look for artists who are individual, original and in a position to properly take advantage of the showcase opportunity. However, most importantly, at least one person in the team has to absolutely love each of the acts.”
Since its launch in 2010, Wide Days has booked a small number of acts to present to its industry delegates, with many going on to sign deals, as well as getting booked for tours and festival slots. Previous performers include FOUND, Rachel Sermanni, Honeyblood, Fatherson, Meursault, Stanley Odd, PAWS, Withered Hand, Roman Nose, Siobhan Wilson and Honningbarna.
All showcases are open to the public, and free tickets are available via online service Eventbrite. This year’s confirmed showcase venues are The Pleasance Theatre, Sneaky Pete’s and The Electric Circus.
