The Wide Days Showcase & Mentoring Programme will be offered to six of Scotland's most exciting emerging acts.

Open to artists from all genres the package is designed to provide support and development for artists to progress to playing international events within 12 months of performing at Wide Days 2020.

Before applying, please ensure you meet the following criteria:

  • Your artist / band is based in Scotland

  • You have achieved a level of high artistic quality

  • All band members are at least 16 years of age

  • All band members & manager (if applicable) available to attend all briefing dates in Edinburgh:
    Wed 5 Feb (afternoon + eve) Wed 6 Mar (afternoon + eve)

  • You agree to take part in a post event debrief on either Mon 4, Tue 5 or Wed 6 May

  • You are available to attend the Wide Days convention from 9am on Fri 24 Apr, perform during the evening of Fri 24 Apr and participate in the artist brunch on Sat 25 Apr. We also request artists attend the Welcome party on Thu 23 Apr launch and Festival Takeover on Sat 25 Apr

  • Can demonstrate at least one of the following: high levels of industry interest, strong music media profile, touring and/or festival experience, evidence of a strong following (live / streaming / social media)

  • You have a professional live show

  • You consider yourself ready to showcase at an international level within 12 months of Wide Days

  • You are serious about building a career in music and are in a position to take up opportunities such as touring and festival dates

  • You are members of PRS (songwriters) and PPL (performers) or equivalent Performance Rights Organisation (PRO) by 31 January (we are happy to help)

  • You will make yourself available for media interviews and appearances

  • You will promote your Wide Days showcase and will engage with the organisers to get the most from the opportunity

  • Without prior agreement, you will not book any other shows within 30 miles of Edinburgh at least 4 weeks either side of your Wide Days showcase

  • You agree to your set being filmed and photographed for promotional use

  • You agree to work with organisers to fulfil a free guestlist allocation of 100 (bands/groups), 75 (solo artists), to ensure your showcase is well attended



If selected you will be provided with the following package:

  • £200 fee to cover expenses

  • Food and drink rider

  • Two mentoring / training events in advance to prepare for Wide Days and subsequent opportunities

  • Professional promotional photoshoot (worth £300)

  • Professional video & audio recording of 1 track from performance (worth £500)

  • WD20 & WD21 Convention pass for each performing artist and one representative e.g manager (worth £130 each per year)

  • High-quality festival backline

  • A professional sound engineer & full soundcheck

  • Dedicated promotion of showcases and participating acts including PR & social media

  • An email list of your public showcase attendees
