On Stage Lunch, Backstage Whisky Tasting, More Speakers Announced...

It is only two weeks to go until Wide Days and we have lots of interesting news including the latest conference additions, details of the Saturday activities and for early arrivals, some top tips for going out on the Thursday evening.

We are pleased  to announce a host of additions to the Friday conference progamme including: Dave Webster (Musicians' Union), Ellie Giles (Various Artists Management), Emily King (PPL), Gabrielle Nicot-Berenger (Music Glue) and Graeme Thomson (PPL). They join DF Concerts CEO Geoff Ellis, X-Ray Touring agent Beckie Sugden, PRS Foundation CEO Vanessa ReedClaire Gevaux of Help Musicians' UK and many more.

We are also looking forward to a new social strand to Wide Days, exploring interesting initiatives where music is being used to help communities. This will include a presentation by agent Beckie Sugden, about the inaugural
Palestine Music Expo, which took place this week in Ramallah, Haifa and Jerusalem.

Closer to home, Graham Galloway will outline how Kirriemuir’s AC/DC tribute festival,
Bonfest, funds the DD8 youth music initiative in the small Scottish town where Bon Scott lived before emigrating to Australia.

SATURDAY - NETWORKING DAY ACTIVITIES

We have a special treat in store for day two of Wide Days. Delegates will quite literally be invited to take to the stage – for lunch. Following the guided coach tour, complete with a fresh air interlude, guests will visit Edinburgh’s iconic Usher Hall. The ‘in-conversation’ and networking lunch will take place on the venue’s stage. And as befits a building bequeathed by a pioneering distiller, we will host a whisky tasting in the dressing room.

ARRIVING THURSDAY? THERE'S STUFF TO DO!

The Skinny magazine and Black Bottle whisky are presenting a melting pot of live performances by innovative acts, matched with Black Bottle whisky cocktails. The Eclectia Experiment line-up features previous Wide Days acts LAW and Meursault plus new Edinburgh-based electronic outfit Future Get Down. Wide Days delegates enjoy 50% off and get in for £5.50.

We also have a handful of tickets to a Sofar Sounds show on Thursday evening. Delegate pass holders will be sent the information and discount codes for both events in advance
