Love Record Stores - Our Top Picks

On Thursday March 26, the music community launched a global pledge of support to independent record stores in response to the effects of the Covid-19 outbreak and the temporary closure of shops due to lockdown restrictions. #LoveRecordStores features 130 UK Independent Record Shops and will see dozens of new and reissued vinyl releases be made available to music fans. The world’s biggest online in-store event will also see 24 hours of virtual entertainment curated by independent record labels across the globe and headed up by #LoveRecordStores ambassador Tim Burgess.

Among the host of Independent Record Stores taking part, Scotland features heavily on the list and deservedly so. Participants include Assai Records (Edinburgh & Dundee), Underground Solushn (Edinburgh), Love Music and Monorail (Glasgow) and Chameleon (Aberdeen) with countless more across the country.

Taking a leaf from Record Store Day, the world’s largest annual vinyl celebration which features hundreds of titles released. Including albums featuring extra tracks, special editions or hidden gems long out of print. Love Record Stores will include similar releases which are equally as collectable to the avid crate-digger.
