Keynote Interview - Julie Weir (Music For Nations / Sony Music)

Julie Weir has enjoyed a diverse career path to her current role label head at Sony Music imprint, Music For Nations. Setting out to foster emerging British rock and metal talent she founded the Visible Noise record company in 1998, going on to establish Wiseblood Management and the Subverse all-ages rock club. Best known for working with Bullet for My Valentine, Lostprophets and Bring me the Horizon, she looks back over more than 20 years in the business which have included retail, merchandise, management, music supervision and working for black metal label Cacophonous Records, best known as the home of Cradle Of Filth and Dimmu Borgir. This week we've been busy adding even more speakers to the conference line-up including: Adam Ryan (The Great Escape), Pip Newby (PIAS) Gillian Henderson (Ticketmaster), Katie McPhee (Eventbrite), Tallah Brash (The Skinny Magazine).


The Great Escape at Wide Days

Numerous Wide Days showcase acts including Honeyblood, Fatherson, Be Charlotte, C Duncan and Elle Exxe, have gone on to be booked for The Great Escape (TGE). Ahead of us co-hosting the Scottish networking reception at the Brighton event, we have invited its new music programmer, Adam Ryan, to take part in a session looking at how to get the most out of attending and playing the convention. 


A&R You Brave Enough?

Delegate pass holders can now submit their music to be reviewed as part of our popular A&R You Brave Enough? session, which takes place the end of Friday's conference. The panel includes Pip Newby (A&R PIAS), Julie Weir (Music For Nations/Sony Music), Tallah Brash (The Skinny) and Nadine Walker (Tenement TV). Details
