Julie has had a passion for music since childhood and always wanted to work within the music industry.

Julie starting off writing for her Uni music magazine in Salford, then moved to a Record Shop (the legendary Nail Records in Leeds), working with local bands too and then onto an MA in Film and TV via a British Academy Scholarship in London, before landing a job as a merchandising manager at Cacophonous records (Cult Black Metal Label) in 1995.

Things moved quickly, with her progressing to Label manager and Working with metal luminaries such as Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir, and then on to setting up her own label in 1998, with the birth of Visible Noise. Best known for working with Bullet for My Valentine, Lostprophets and Bring me the Horizon, Visible Noise was set up to foster the best in UK based rock and metal at a time when the focus was on the USA, and Julie believed there should be more done to foster young native talent.

Whilst at Visible Noise she also set up Wiseblood Management and worked with bands such as Blitz Kids, FVK and Zoax, as well as setting up Subverse (Londons first all ages rock club which ran for 8 years and gave many bands their first shows - Bullet, BMTH, Funeral for a Friend to name but a few), consulting on bands for Sony Music and working on Branding and Sync/Music Supervision projects.

In April 2016 after over 20 years in the independent music world, Julie moved over to be label Head at Music for Nations at Sony Music, resurrecting the legendary Rock and Metal label as a frontline label signing new, exciting artists, as well as working with legendary names.
