Hailing from the West Coast of Scotland, Hannah Rankin is a professional Musician currently living and working in London. After completing her undergraduate at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow she moved to London in 2012 to do a Masters at the Royal Academy of Music. Since graduating she has been freelancing and teaching in London. She has worked with the likes of The St Petersburg Ballet Theatre, London International Chamber Orchestra and Ryedale Festival Opera and also currently performs regularly with her wind quintet, The Coriolis Quintet.

During her time in London she developed a love for Boxing, first starting at a boxing class fitness level, progressing to White Collar charity fights and now, alongside her musical career, has pursued that to a professional level with a record of 9-4.

Hannah successfully completed her goal of becoming Scotland’s first female world champion in Boxing in her 10th fight where she won the IBO Super Welterweight World Title headlining a Kynoch Boxing show in Scotland. She was also the first UK female to headline a televised card as the bout was broadcast on the BBC.

Previous world title attempts were both in weight classes above Hannah’s natural weight of 154lbs. These were against Alicia Napoleon the WBA Super Middleweight World Champion over in New York on a DiBella Entertainment Show where she stepped up two weight classes and also one weight class up against  Claressa Shields for the Unified Middleweight Championship of the World in Kansa last November on a Matchroom Show broadcast on Sky Sports and DAZN.  Both fights Hannah lost on points.

She is the former WBC Silver Middleweight Champion. Hannah unfortunately lost her Title on a very close decision away from home to Sweden’s Patricia Berghault at the end of 2019. But after a destructive performance in January 2020 where she stopped former World Champion Eva Bajik in the 3rd round with vicious body work, she is back in the win column and chasing the rematch with Berghault. Her goal this year is to regain her world champion status and she continues to strive to be a positive role model in the sport for younger women coming through.
