Dana Sipos

Festival Takeover: Saturday 21 May | from 19:00 BST

Dana Sipos is an acclaimed Canadian songwriter. She inhabited the far north before going nomad and her captivatingly nuanced songs are filled with a wild wind and a haunting surrealism. She now resides among the old growth and wilds of Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

Sipos toured extensively across North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand in support of her 2018 album, Trick of the Light, released on Juno-nominated musician and music advocate, Miranda Mulholland’s label, Roaring Girl Records. The album received acclaim from CBC, The Bluegrass Situation, Penguin Eggs, Folk Roots Radio (UK) and No Depression. Dana was nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award in the English Songwriter of the year category and shortlisted for the Ontario Arts Council Colleen Peterson Songwriting Award and the Kerrville Folk Festival “New Folk” songwriter competition.Social
