Dan Moore is the Head of Marketing & Membership for the
British Academy of Songwriters, Composers & Authors (BASCA)
 
BASCA exists to support and protect the professional interests of composers, songwriters and lyricists of all genres of music. It offers its’ members an array of benefits to help support their careers as music writers. From professional development seminars, industry training, critiques and master-classes, joining BASCA provides the opportunity to be connected to the UK’s most talented and hardest working music creators.
 
Dan has over 20 years music industry experience. He began his career as A&R executive for Warner Music in the mid-nineties during the Britpop's heyday where he spent his time scouring the country for new talent. He then worked for the America Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) the World’s largest performing rights organisation and sister company to PRS for Music. Having directly experienced the shift to a new digital business model within the music industry, Dan set up a marketing consultancy company to offer digital strategy services before setting up his own Artist Management company and managing the likes of The Magic Numbers and The Heavy.
 
He brought his all-round knowledge of the music industry to BASCA last year where the team campaign on behalf of composers and provide invaluable support its’ members.
