HAMISH HAWK
Rich of voice and even richer of imagination, the singer-songwriter from Edinburgh creates musical pen-portraits as vivid in lyric as they are in melody. In all the wholly best ways, these are chamber pop songs that have swallowed both a dictionary and a compendium of modern urban (and island) fairy tales. And, on Heavy Elevator, his first fully-formed album, this prolific artist presents a perfect ten tracks packed with characters, incident, emotion, geographical/artistic references and tunes to hang your coat on.

IONA ZAJAC
There’s an understated beauty to the work of Iona Zajac. It resonates throughout
her stunning debut EP, Find Her In The Grass, which was released in the spring of 2022.
A multi-instrumentalist, Zajac grew up singing and playing Scotland's oldest national instrument, the Clarsach Harp. Between 2016 and 2020 she fronted the folk-blues trio Avocet, before moving onto the solo acoustic work which so beautifully shapes the songs on Find Her In The Grass. It was while studying English Literature at Glasgow University that she also started focusing on her poetry, culminating in a collection of 20-odd poems called The Salt I have Produced.

TAMZENE
Tamzene is a singer, writer and multi-instrumentalist hailing from the coastal town of Cromarty in the Scottish Highlands. Inspired by everything from the beauty of the rugged landscape to the local cèilidh bands and the powerhouse vocals of her mum's favourite artists (Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner), Tamzene always knew she wanted to be a musician.
Growing up in an isolated location never stopped her from finding an audience. Busking in nearby Inverness, she cut her teeth by performing a mix of classic covers and contemporary pop tracks by the likes of Adele, Amy Winehouse, Leon Bridges and her personal hero, Alicia Keys. These years of busking taught her the importance of killer hooks and powerful choruses.
