Where does Wide Days take place?
The daytime convention takes place at Teviot Row House on Friday 12 April. The showcases will take place across two venues in Edinburgh on the evening of 12th April.

I have a weekend pass but cannot attend all the additional activities on. Am I able to come to certain parts and not others?
Yes, you can come to whichever activities suit your schedule. Please email with details on your planned attendance.

Can I attend Wide Days if I'm not involved in the music industry?
Wide Days is open to anyone, you don't have to work in the business already to attend. Many themes covered are also relevant to other creative industries.

How can I register for a press pass?

How exactly do the panels work?
Each panel will run slightly differently, but the majority consist of 4-5 speakers sat on sofas answering questions asked by a moderator and participating in discussion. Sessions are very informal and fluid. We aim to provide some time at the end of each session for questions from the audience. Most of the speakers will also stay at the event and are available for 15-minute meetings.

What is the difference between a Weekend pass and a Friday Convention Pass?
The Weekend Pass includes full access to the convention, priority access to all live showcases and additional networking activities. The Friday Convention Pass includes access to the Friday convention with lunch & dinner provided, and the evening showcases only. The full weekend pass includes access to the festival takeover. Tickets are also available to buy separately for the takeover here.

Do I have to be working full-time in the music industry to buy the Weekend Convention Pass?
No, the Full Convention Pass is for both those who already work in the industry and those who would like the opportunity to network with the speakers/professional delegates in a more informal setting. The full pass cross-subsidies the student convention pass, so by buying one you are helping them attend the conference.
Do I need to register for the showcases if I have bought a delegate pass?
No, all delegate passes include admission to the showcases. 

Can I buy tickets for the showcases only?
A limited number of free tickets are made available for the showcases by registering in advance. Please note you can only register 1 ticker per person/email address.

I am under the age of 18, can I attend the evening showcase?
Over 14's are welcome to attend the evening showcase at Teviot. The La Belle Angele showcase is over 18’s only. The festival takeover is also over 18’s only.

What proof of ID do you accept for under 18's/students?
We accept any form of photographic ID to collect an under 18's wristband, such as a provisional or full driving license or Young Scot card. Please ensure the ID has a photo, date of birth and is still valid. Student ticket holders must bring a valid student ID card to show upon registration.

Does my ticket have a registered seat number?
No, seating is not allocated.

Will there be breaks between each talk?
Yes, but they will be very short, so that you can see almost everything. However delegates are not obliged to attend every seminar and are welcome to take a break at any point.

Will Wi-Fi be available at the convention venues?
There will be a Wi-Fi connection available to delegates.

Will there be any power hot-spots available?
Yes, there will be some stations available to charge phones and laptops. However, we anticipate these will be popular so if you are able to bring a back-up battery/charger, this would be advised.

Do I need permission to take photographs at Wide Days?
If you are a professional photographer or intend to use professional photographic equipment, please contact us in advance for a photo pass. You are welcome to take photos on your phone or with a digital camera, but please disable any sounds and do not use a flash.

I only want to go to one panel in particular, do I have to buy a full ticket?
Yes, we do not offer tickets for individual panels.

I'm studying a music industry related course, how can I arrange interviews with the panelists?
Once you have purchased your delegate pass, you will later be sent a delegate info email which includes information on setting up 15-minute meetings with speakers via our app. This is usually made available two weeks prior to the event.

Can I bring my own music to give to other delegates and speakers?
You are welcome to bring your music along to give to delegates and speakers. Keep in mind that many people prefer not to carry CDs/vinyl around so may prefer a download code/dropcard.

Is there disabled access at the convention?
Yes, Teviot is fully accessible to people with disabilities. If you require any additional support please let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.

I've bought a ticket and I have some severe food allergies, will these be catered for?
We aim to cater for allergies but it is important we are aware of these in advance. Please email with the subject 'Food Allergies'.

I'm attending Wide Days through work, will I be able to get receipts/a receipt on arrival?
Your e-ticket will include a receipt but if you require anything further we can provide this by email. The bar and café can issue receipts for food and drink.

Do you have a hotel partner?
Yes, we recommend staying at Ten Hill Place, however there are a number of other recommended hotels over on our accommodation page.

I have bought a ticket but can no longer attend, can I get a full refund?
Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds for unused tickets. However, if you are no longer able to attend we can transfer your ticket to someone else up to the day before. For further information please email
