New Speakers and Seminar Timings Announced
We are pleased to announce seminar timings and the addition of several speakers joining the panels.
Veteran manager, Keith Harris, who represents Stevie Wonder, will open the event with Everything You Need To Know About The Music Business. The talk is sponsored by collection society PPL and in his capacity as the organisation’s director of performer affairs, he will be available throughout the day to answer member’s queries.
Both the Playing The Sport and Destination Music panels are set to benefit from the addition of Davie Gardner. He has worked closely with Promote Shetland and local musicians to boost tourism through music, and in addition to promoting numerous concerts on the islands has also managed gig programmes for several sporting events.
Meanwhile, Ben Sunderland (Chasing Owls) will provide an artist perspective on how to build and develop an audience, joining social media expert Anny Deery and manager/digital music entrepreneur Scott Cohen. As frontman for Edinburgh-based act Chasing Owls, Sunderland has extensive experience promoting the band’s own shows and filling tens at festivals. The discussion will be chaired by Jim Mawdsley, Generator CEO and director of the Evolution Festival.
Additional moderators include the BBC’s Vic Galloway, the business editor of CMU Daily Chris Cooke and Musicians’ Union representative Jen Hunter, who will also be available to meet members throughout the event.
More speakers are set to be announced in the run up to the Wide Days.
