FRIDAY 12 APRIL | TEVIOT DEBATING HALL
Mother Whale, the latest single from Glasgow’s own Megan Airlie, saw the singer songwriter move to a more upbeat, traditional pop-structured sound than previously heard in her work. Showcasing her unique, jazz-inspired vocal the song has led to support from BBC Radio Scotland, Hoxton Radio, Earmilk Magazine and more, with each outlet lauding praise on her distinct style. Previous release After River dealt with some heavy subject material, made all the more poignant by Airlie incredibly soulful vocal. A regular in and around Glasgow, and a stand out performer at 2018’s SAY Awards, this year she is aiming to extend her fanbase throughout the rest of the UK.
